Meet Aliona
I would like you to meet my little Soldier. Aliona is a 14 year old who happens to be born with Up Syndrome according to her sisters. Early in life, she faced complex medical challenges, including multiple heart and stomach surgeries. Despite these hurdles, she continues to grow and thrive.Â
Aliona loves to keep active. She talks (way too much), walks, swim, ride horses, bikes, even does walk climbing not to mention her acrobatics skills at circus class.
Aliona is known for her unforgettable personality, she leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

This is Bolero, a young man with a real passion for sport. Over the past 10 years, he has enjoyed attending a wide range of clubs and activities and he is always keen to try something new, with his list of hobbies continuing to grow.

Earlier this year, Bolero took part in the Down Syndrome Association's 21 Day Challenge, showing fantastic commitment and determination from start to finish.

On the 22nd day, Bolero celebrated a very special milestone – his 18th birthday – surrounded by his family, friends, and the local community, who had supported him every step of the way.

Thanks to everyone's incredible generosity, Bolero raised an amazing £1,135 for the Down Syndrome Association.

To thank everyone who took part in the challenge and other fundraising events, the Down Syndrome Association invited participants to a special celebration. It was a wonderful evening where fundraisers came together to celebrate their achievements and we got to learn about the history of Dr Langdon Down and the important work he carried out.
